</did><bioghist><p>A separate <extref href="http://historyresearch.utah.gov/agencyhistories/327.html">agency history</extref> is available.</p></bioghist><scopecontent><p><emph render="bold">DESCRIPTION:  </emph>This series is comprised of a one volume report published by the Utah Educational Survey Committee in fulfillment of their 1939 appointment by Governor Henry H. Blood.  Their purpose was to identify significant problems of public education in Utah and to produce a report for presentation to the Governor "on or before July 1, 1940."  The Committee's report includes their findings, conclusions and recommendations for legislative action.  The report is based upon hearings, committee deliberations, and a series of extended research reports prepared by special research groups.  This one volume report includes these various research reports in addition to the Committee's own.
</p></scopecontent><add><relatedmaterial><p><emph render="bold">RELATED RECORDS: </emph>CORRESPONDENCE,  <extref href="http://historyresearch.utah.gov/inventories/1216.html">series 1216</extref>, documents the communications that flowed between the Utah Educational Survey Committee members, its research director, and local and national educational bodies. RESEARCH RECORDS, <extref href="http://historyresearch.utah.gov/inventories/1217.html">series 1217</extref>, contains informational data gathered by the Utah Educational Survey Committee.  Bulk of information was obtained by questionnaires dispersed to educators throughout the state. MINUTES, <extref href="http://historyresearch.utah.gov/inventories/23749.html">series 23749</extref>, contains official minutes and transcripts of meetings and public hearings held by the Utah Educational Survey Committee.  Agendas, attendance rolls, invitations, and relevant correspondence are also included. CORRESPONDENCE, <extref href="http://historyresearch.utah.gov/inventories/186.html">series 186</extref>, contains Governor Henry H.
