DESCRIPTION: These cemetery record volumes consist primarily of interment registers, but also include occasional lists of plot owners, and some limited financial/personnel records. Interment registers generally consist of the name of the deceased, the date and place of birth, date and place of death, names of parents, attending physician, cause of death, and the location of the grave. Some registers may also include information on the construction of the vault, the sexton's name, and the occupation, religion, and marital status of the deceased. Not all information is given for all burials. The plot owner lists generally consist of the name of the purchaser, the amount paid, the date, and a description of the lots purchased. The financial/personnel records consist primarily of a listing of the individuals employed by the cemetery, the days worked and the amount paid to that individual.
ARRANGEMENT: These volumes are arranged by the inclusive dates of the interment registers. Other documents bound within the volumes do not necessarily reflect the overall chronological arrangement of the series. Interment registers are arranged chronologically as are the financial/personnel records and the plot owner lists appear to be arranged roughly chronologically.
RESEARCH NOTE: The first and second interment registers contain entries (beginning in 1892) that appear be written in one of the northern European Germanic-based languages.
FINDING AIDS: Books 3 and 4 contain indexes arranged by the first letter of the last name of the deceased. In book 3 the index precedes the interment register; in book 4 the index follows the register.
PROCESSING NOTE: The first three volumes were initially filmed in 1966 by the Utah State Archives and Records Service. In 1981 all remaining records were refilmed and the fourth volume was filmed by the Archives. This series was processed by A. B. Schmuland in February 2002. The two filmings were assessed at that time and the best filmings of each individual volume were maintained.
