DESCRIPTION: Mining records, which constitute a legal record, are kept by the county recorder for the purpose of monitoring and registering mining claims and operations. This series contains deeds which provide the name of the claim, grantors, grantees, location, legal description, date of transfer of title, and the mining district.

ARRANGEMENT: Chronological by date filed.

RESEARCH NOTE: This series contains records prior to the creation of Duchesne County in 1915. Records were copied from the Wasatch County Recorder for mining claims that are now located in Duchesne County.

RELATED RECORDS: Series 18101, MINING NOTICES OF LOCATION, 1882–present, contains notices of location for the same mining claims. Series 22195, MINING PROOFS OF LABOR RECORDS, 1898–present, contains proofs of labor for the same mining claims.

PROCESSING NOTE: Mining records were first scheduled as permanent records in 1971. The mining records were filmed by the Duchesne County Recorder in 1986. The entire series was archivally processed by David Clark in November 1999.
