DISTRICT COURT (THIRD DISTRICT) [275]

CIVIL CASE TRIAL CALENDARS, 1871, 1879-1892
6 reels microfilm (6 vols.)

DESCRIPTION: These court calendars provide a list of cases to determine their orderly disposition and trial. Each entry gives the docket number, names of parties involved, the attorneys for each party, the file (case) number, and space called "minutes" for the judge's notes. These penciled notes are extremely brief, for example: "withdrawn," "dismissed," "date set for —-," "settled," "continued," "judgement against ——," etc. Entries are arranged by docket number for first the fall term and then, starting again with number one, for the winter term. Most are for cases of law or equity.

ARRANGEMENT: Entries are chronological by term, thereunder numerical by docket number. Docket numbers start over with number one at each new term.

RELATED RECORDS: The case files cited in the calendar can be found in the CASE FILES of the territorial Third District Court, series 9802.

FINDING AIDS: The 1871 volume has an alphabetical name index at the beginning.

Cone, 1990. Additional volumes were located and accessioned in 1992, and the series inventory updated in 1996. Hard copy was destroyed following filming in 1999.
