Series 24236

CHARLESTON (UTAH) [191]

INTERMENT CARDS, 1901-1966.
1 microfilm reel

DESCRIPTION: These cards document some of the individual burials in the Charleston cemetery. The cards include blanks for the name of the sexton; the deceased's name; date and place of birth; name of parents; religious affiliation; date, place, and cause of death; name of medical attendant at time of death; location of grave and type of casket. These cards may initially have been used to document the issuance of deeds to individual graves and payment for plots as early cards contain notes as to when a deed was issued and if payment was made.

ARRANGEMENT: These cards are generally arranged numerically by card number. Card numbers have been assigned chronologically. Some individual cards that had apparently fallen out of the book are filmed in numerical order at the end of the reel.

RELATED RECORDS: Series 10246, INTERMENT REGISTER, contains similar documentation for these and other burials in the cemetery.

PROCESSING NOTE: These cards were filmed by the Utah State Archives in 1992. Archival processing was completed by Arlene Schmuland in May 2002.

PREFERRED CITATION: Cite the Utah State Archives and Records Service, the creating agency name, the series title, and the series number.
