TOOELE COUNTY (UTAH). COUNTY RECORDER [1166]MINING DISTRICTS INDEX, 1951-1978.1 microfilm reel
A separate agency history is available.
DESCRIPTION: The Tooele County recorder created this index to documents relating to mining, which is organized according to the mining district in which the claim was located. The index provides reference to notices of location (mining claims), affidavits showing proof of labor on claims, and other mining documents. This index includes the name of the claim, the names of grantor and grantee (buyer and seller), type of document, document date, recorder's entry number, and the book and page number where the document was recorded.
ARRANGEMENT: Entries are grouped according to mining district, and thereunder are chronological by date filed. Mining districts are in alphabetical order and include the following: Blue Bell, Boulter, Camp Floyd, Clifton, Columbia, Dugway, Erickson, Free Coinage, Lakeside, North Tintic, Ophir, Rush Valley, Third Term, West Mountain, West Tintic, Willow Springs, unorganized, unknown.
RESEARCH NOTE: This index was microfilmed with the camera head upside down, and therefore the images are in reverse order on the reel. In order to read the entries in chronological order, a researcher will need to read the microfilm backwards.
RELATED RECORDS: This index provides access to documents recorded in MINING RECORDS, series 6150, and in OFFICIAL RECORDS, series 7134.
PROCESSING NOTE: Tooele County mining records were processed by Rosemary Cundiff in November 2002.
