Series 23780

DISTRICT COURT (FIFTH DISTRICT: WASHINGTON COUNTY) [1682]

ESTATE ADMINISTRATION INDEX, 1880-1903.
.25 cu. ft. (1 vol.) and 1 microfilm reel

A separate agency history is available.

DESCRIPTION: The Index to Record of Administration of Estates is a register of actions for estate and guardianship cases handled by the Washington County Probate Court, and subsequently by the probate division of Fifth District Court: Washington County. For each case the register names an individual, states the kind of case, and then lists each action taken in the case. Each entry provides both the date of action and a reference where that action was recorded in Probate Record Books F, G, H, or in the Will Book. While subsequent registers of action include all functions of the probate court, this index includes estate and guardianship cases only.

ARRANGEMENT: Registers of action are arranged chronologically based on the first date of action taken in the case.

RELATED RECORDS: This series provides a register of action for estate and guardianship cases recorded in PROBATE RECORD BOOKS series 18215. A few registers also refer to documents recorded in WILL RECORD BOOKS, series 23739. Succeeding registers of action are found in PROBATE REGISTERS OF ACTION series 18217.

FINDING AIDS: This volume includes an alphabetical index at the beginning which identifies page numbers for the register entries within.

PROCESSING NOTE: This volume was microfilmed by the Utah Genealogical Society in 1966. The hard copy was transferred from Washington County to Utah State Archives in January 2001, and the series was processed by Rosemary Cundiff in June 2001.

PREFERRED CITATION: Cite the Utah State Archives and Records Service, the creating agency name, the series title, and the series number.
