DESCRIPTION: This series contains official minutes and transcripts of meetings and public hearings held by the Utah Educational Survey Committee. The Committee was a fact finding body appointed in 1939 by Governor Henry H. Blood. Their purpose was to identify significant problems of public education in Utah and to produce a report for presentation to the Governor "on or before July 1, 1940." Agendas, attendance rolls, invitations, and relevant correspondence are also included.

ARRANGEMENT: The arrangement is alphabetical by subject.

RELATED RECORDS: CORRESPONDENCE, series 1216, documents the communications that flowed between the Utah Educational Survey Committee members, its research director, and local and national educational bodies. RESEARCH RECORDS, series 1217, contains informational data gathered by the Utah Educational Survey Committee. Bulk of information was obtained by questionnaires dispersed to educators throughout the state. REPORT, series 23746, contains a one volume report published by the Utah Educational Survey Committee. CORRESPONDENCE, series 186, contains Governor Henry H. Blood's incoming and outgoing correspondence, including some pertaining to the Utah Educational Survey Committee.
