DESCRIPTION: This series consists of a minute book which documents the court's day to day activities in handling divorce cases. The majority of the entries refer to the court proceedings in which the decree was entered. Entries generally include the names of the parties, the date, the name of the judge, and a transcription of the decree.

ARRANGEMENT: The entries in this volume are arranged chronologically by date.

RESEARCH NOTE: Not all divorce cases handled by the Probate Court are referenced in this volume. Researchers should also consult the related records.

RELATED RECORDS: Series 4700, DIVORCE CASES, contains the cases referenced in this volume. Series 4731, DIVORCE REGISTERS OF ACTIONS, contains the lists of documents filed in each divorce case. Additional information on divorces can be found mixed with other civil, criminal, and probate activities of the court in the MINUTE BOOKS, series 25012 (1854-1872) and with the RECORD BOOKS, series 25004 (1853-1896).
