DESCRIPTION: This series contains transcripts of marriage certificates as filed with the Davis County Clerk's office. The certificates include the names of the bride and groom, the city and county of their residence, the date and place of marriage, the names of the officiator and witnesses, and the date filed by the clerk.

ARRANGEMENT: Within the books, entries are chronological by filing date. Each volume contains records based on the nature of the officiator: Book A includes those marriages performed by civil or non-LDS authorities, Book B includes those marriages performed by LDS officiators, and the third volume contains one certificate for a marriage performed in Salt Lake County.

RELATED RECORDS: Series 6040, MARRIAGE LICENSES AND APPLICATIONS, contain the licenses and applications for the marriages recorded in these volumes. Related records which include records less than 100 years old remain in the custody of the County Clerk.
