DESCRIPTION: This alphabetical index for mining records was created by the Sevier County Recorder to facilitate access to the Mining Records. The series provides the instrument number, name of locators or grantors, name of claim or grantee, name of district or location, record book, page number and remarks.

ARRANGEMENT: This series is arranged chronologically, thereunder alphabetically.

RESEARCH NOTE: Researchers should consult all the indexes to ensure finding all related materials for the mining operations they are researching. Some of the records indexed by reel 1 are not in archival holdings.

RELATED RECORDS: Series 84249, MINING RECORDS, 1896–1970, contains the mining records that this series indexes.

PROCESSING NOTE: Mining records were first scheduled as permanent records in 1971. The mining records were filmed by the Utah State Archives in 1973. The entire series was archivally processed by David Clark in December 1999.
