Series 22135

DESCRIPTION: This series consists of a ledger which documents deaths and burials recorded in Morgan. Ledger columns include the name of the deceased, to whom the deceased is related, birth date and location, death date, cause of death, the name of the medical attendant, and location of burial including block and lot numbers. Not all columns are complete for all individuals.

ARRANGEMENT: These records are arranged roughly chronologically by date of death.

RESEARCH NOTE: The first section of the register is labeled as " First ward" and includes the years 1865 through 1933, in no observable order. The second section of the register is labeled as " Second ward" and includes the years 1876 through 1941, arranged alphabetically by first letter of the deceased' s last name. The third section has no ward label, and covers the years 1950 through 1964 alphabetically by first letter of last name.

RELATED RECORDS: Series 13128, CEMETERY LOT PURCHASE RECORDS, documents the purchase of graves for some of the deceased persons. Series 22136, INTERMENT REGISTER, is an alphabetical listing of some of the persons included in this register.
