Utah State Historical Society Utah State Archives

The Utah State Historical Society began digitizing photographs from the Shipler Commercial Photograph Collection thanks in part to funding grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Utah State Library. Since then many thousands of photographs and other historical documents have been digitized and made available online.

The Utah State Archives began a comprehensive digital program in 2006 with an special appropriation from the Utah State Legislature to help purchase hardware and software. It is planned to fully integrate the digitization process into the regular work of preserving and making government records available.
